The day is normal, the night is clear around the world all kinds of things are happening good and evil. In a hospital lays a young lady who is losing her life due to an unfortunate occurrence. Parents are hoping for the best for the daughter to be revived and get to the cheerleading team she was going to support as school gets started for the 2009 year. The hopes faded as the hours has gone on for over a week as all the loving family and friends and church friends congregate cheering and speaking to her of their love. Diana and Bryan, mom and dad of Heather, are fighting for her life are relentless not to leave her side along with a medical team at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital who has fought so hard to keep her alive. Approximately 4:00 A.M. Aug.11th the family is aware that all of her systems are beginning to close down. For many hours that day tears and decisions are being made. This young lady barely being out of her teens being 20 years old now is about to do something that the greatest athletes or even the President of the United States has not obtained. Though she is a very sick young lady the beauty of her face, long blonde hair, and beautiful polished finger nails have not diminished. Heather had a heart of sharing as she had before let her hair grow and then cut it to share it with someone who had the need for her hair. At the age of 16 she had put on her license to donate organs if something were to happen to her. Now her still being the age she was a decision had to be made by Dianne and Bryan , Do we do this? With tears flowing from their eyes the decision was made to honor Heathers desire. As the hour approached for everyone in the Ohio Valley to go to sleep and rest, Heather was giving the gift of life to recipients as Children’s hospital was contacted to give the gift of life to others that are very ill as they go to sleep tonight. This night as at least 3 people were going to sleep with no hope they will arise in the morning to the news that they now will be nursed back to health and their life can be normal and their family and friends can smile again because a hero was at work while we slept! Though Heather was just ending a year at Wright State and transferring to Shawnee State for the coming year, she graduated with the highest honor and her voice will cheer on for years to come through the lives that she saved. The name Heather will always have a special place the hearts of many in this world for being a young lady that cared about others. |
