The Story of Our Float
"Freedom"
All of this started with a vision in August, 2001 to revive patriotism in our
community.   J
ust two weeks later, on September 11, 2001, the real
purpose for our Freedom Float
would sadly unfold before our eyes.   Now,
nine years later, our vision has still not ended, but a greater fervor has
instead been born, to support our troops and show honor to all our of
military, our wounded warriors and our fallen heroes who can no longer live
with their own causes.  Now it's up to us to carry it for them.
The crowd of people would stand to
their feet upon her appearance. Most
would start clapping their hands and
waving.  Grown men was seen with
tears running down their cheek,
veterans would be saluting as
"Freedom" went by.

In our book we will take you on a
journey and the experiences of what it
was like to take to the streets of
America before 9-11-01 and again
after that fateful day with our float
"FREEDOM".
Our paths crossed with
Congressman Ted Strickland
who is currently
our Governor.
The parade line up.  This is at night so we trimmed the float with lights.
From Portsmouth, Ohio we traveled to Gatlinburg, TN.  It rained that evening, but
we was determined to still go on, and we built a roof with a tarp to protect the
musical instruments.

Our newest version of our Float called Freedom, now carries
Charlie's Mustang through the streets,  honoring all of our
Wounded Warriors, Fallen Heroes, and Military's Best.
The following is a short excerpt of our original Freedom Float at the
Gatlinburg Fantasy of Lights parade in December, 2001.
